Dress Appropriately
Be Aware of your body’s temperature. Nothing makes having fun harder than if you are freezing or sweating profusely. Layers are key to dressing smartly. A Small or Medium Small backpack is great for extra layers and all the other small items you might want with you on a day of adventuring: (H2O, telephone, sunscreen, compass & map, energy bars, pocket tool, hand & foot warmers, neck-gaiter, sunglasses, goggles, extra gloves, money, ID, etc…).

Take the time to make adjustments to your environment or situation. It takes only a handful of minutes to over-heat and break into a heavy sweat. Almost everybody knows staying dry is paramount to surviving and enjoying winter activities. Your extremities (hands & feet) can become painfully cold in a few minutes. Use or move your fingers and toes as soon as you notice them becoming cold. Wiggle your toes and clench and unclench your fists. This simple task done regularly will help regulate the temperature of your extremities.
